Locked in Buckhorn jail on suspicion of murder, Bill Hastings receives a visit from his wife, Phyllis; she knows about his affair with Ruth Davenport, and is in turn seeing Bill’s lawyer, George Bautzer. In a nearby cell, a tramp vanishes into thin air. Phyllis returns home and is murdered by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper’s evil doppelgänger, Mr C. In Las Vegas, Nevada, businessman Duncan Todd sends money to a woman for a job. Mr C entrusts his associates Darya and Ray with obtaining important information. Searching the woods, Deputy Chief Hawk receives another phone call from the Log Lady, who tells him an important time is coming. In the Black Lodge, Agent Cooper meets Mike and Laura Palmer, whose face conceals light. Cooper also meets the evolved, tree-like form of the Arm, which advises he can leave once his doppelgänger returns. Mr C discovers that Darya and Ray plan to murder him. After gloating about his plan to avoid returning to the Black Lodge, Mr C kills Darya, then has a phone call with someone he mistakenly believes is missing FBI agent Phillip Jeffries, who mentions Major Briggs and Bob. Mr C sets out for Yankton Federal Prison to deal with Ray. The Arm tells Cooper about ‘253’, but is then attacked by its own evil doppelgänger, which sends Cooper through a black vortex and into the glass box in New York; but before he can escape, Cooper is banished into space… In Twin Peaks, Shelly enjoys a night out at the Roadhouse ‘Bang Bang Bar’, and notices James Hurley staring at her friend Renee.
